Medeco 4 High Security Lock Cylinders
Medeco M4 cylinders from Edmonton Lock & Safe are UL 437 Listed with solid brass construction and hardened-steel inserts to thwart drilling attacks. In addition to top pins that lift and rotate, M4’s design includes 4 Side Pins made up of 3 Finger Pins and 1 Lift Pin. The Lift Pin is activated by contact with the Shuttle Pin movable element in the key, providing a high level of pick resistance. The Finger Pins work with Secondary Side cuts on the key to provide an increased security and greater potential combinations.
The patent-pending M4 key with Shuttle Pin movable element protects against the emerging threat of 3D printing for added credential security. Passing UL437 and BHMA's rigid testing procedures reaffirms Medeco 4's ability to protect people and property.
Lever Locks
All buildings should be welcoming to individuals regardless of their ability. Levers, as opposed to knobs, are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act and are a must for commercial buildings. Unfortunately, lever locks can be unique by manufacturer and can cause massive headaches without knowledge of the lock cylinder. To ensure your building is ADA compliant, contact us today for a free site audit.
Keyless Entry Locks
Keyless entry locks are can be either strictly mechanical or electronic. Mechanical versions are usually referred to as “pushbutton locks” and have longer lifespans than electronics. They are susceptible to needing maintenance, however, as moving parts do need to be lubricated and maintained for proper functioning. Electronic versions can be accessed by either a code or a fob/card.
While generally having a lesser lifespan than mechanical, electronic keyless entry locks are most commonly used in residential settings where usage is less than commercial. A quality electronic keyless entry will have a key over-ride which can come in very handy if you find yourself in a sticky situation such as a dead battery.
